The Albums We Are Most Excited For in 2019

We are three months into 2019, and we can already tell that this is a great year for music. We have received some pretty interesting news on upcoming music albums that have us excited. There is a long list of amazing music albums coming out this year.

We have curated a list of albums that we are most excited about. The good thing is that this year has plenty for everyone. So, it does not matter what music genre you are into; there is something that you will like for sure.

American Football

If you were around the music scene of 1999, it is safe to say that you know about the emo legends American Football and their first, self-titled album. Well, guess what? They are coming back with another self-titled album called American Football (LP3) It surely is an LP, but for the fans of the band, it is very important.

Danny Brown

Danny Brown is known for some amazing music, and he did tease his next project last year. However, we are still not sure what’s it about, or when it is coming out. The good news, however, is that it is coming out and if we are to gain anything from his past projects, this one is going to be an ambitious one.

It has been 13 years since we got the chance to hear 10,000 Days by Tool. Ever since that, fans have been anxiously waiting for a new Tool album. We are aware of the fact that the album is coming this year, but we really do not know when the release date is happening. Rest assured, it certainly is one of the most interesting releases that we are looking forward to.

Lana Del Rey

If Lana Del Rey is known for one thing, it is releasing music that sounds so much like her. The next album is titled Normal Fucking Rockwell, and we cannot say much about the album itself. It is just the fact that the album is going to be a lot like a classic Lana Del Rey record, and we are so sold on that.

Grimes has been teasing her new album since last year, it’s been three years since her last album came out, and we cannot say that we are not excited. She did release a new single recently, and it sounded so much amazing. Let’s see what her next album will be centered around.

Missy Elliott

Back in 2017, Missy Elliott hinted at a potential return by releasing a single titled “I’m Better”. While we are not sure if she is actually coming out with a new album, we are surely stoked and we definitely know that the queen is going to be coming out with a new album this year.

However, there are not many details available at this point, so we cannot be sure about what is happening and when it is happening.

The 5 Best Film Scores of All Time

A score in a movie can make a lot of difference. Considering how it is created by the direct and composer in tandem, it can set the tone for the entirety of the movie. Just ask yourself, would The Dark Knight feel the same without Hans Zimmer’s haunting Dark Knight Medley playing along with it. It would not.

An amazing score is nothing short of an artistic masterpiece, and while it surely helps in projecting the vision the director had, it does more than just that and becomes a great piece of music on its own right.

Keeping that in mind, we decided to take a look at the best film scores of all time. There are a lot of movies around, so we are sticking to the one that we think is the best.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Fans of the movie can already tell just the amazing experience this movie was. But the movie was not just known for some of the amazing script writing and set pieces. The movie was also known for having one of the best scores by the composer Tan Dun who worked alongside the director Ang Lee and gave us one of the best scores we have heard in a long, long time in a movie.

The Yearning of the Sword by Tan Tun and Yo-Yo Ma was one of the best scores that we have ever heard.

Trouble Man

Another great movie with a perfect score is the Trouble Man. Sure, it might be a bit too told for the younger generation but for anyone who is in search for a movie that sets a great example as to how a good score can change a lot about the movie, this is the one to go for.

The Dark Knight Trilogy

I know this might seem like we are cheating, but ask anyone who has watched the trilogy, and if they have not experienced the cohesiveness in the score. Thanks to the genius of Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan, the entirety of the trilogy has one of the best scores in the modern day and all time.

The Pink Panther

Just think about the Pink Panther theme for a second and tell me that it is not the greatest original scores of all time? I know it sounds like an exaggeration but for a movie that was released back in the ’60s, the Pink Panther theme is ingenious. Henry Mancini is a genius.

Although it is not an old movie, Jackie has one of the best when it comes to being a movie, and having a great score. The score that accompanies the movie is among the best. It is every bit as good as Natalie Portman’s portrayal of Jackie Kennedy. If you want an example as to just how good the score is, just listen to Burial by Mica Levi, and you will get to know what we are talking about.

The Lyrics That Defined 2018

2018 was full of amazing musical releases, as well as releases that did not make a mark. However, the one thing we are sure about when it comes to last year is that we have seen some amazing musical releases, and more importantly, some lyrics that more or less defined the entire year.

In this article, we look back at the lyrics that defined 2018.

“Thank you, Kanye, very cool”

One of the strangest thing that happened back in 2018 was the rather strange friendship between Kanye West and President Donald Trump. The 1975 decided to make this entire situation a lot cooler by including president’s tweet that said, “Thank you, Kanye, very cool” and including it in their song called Love It If We Made It.

“You are hiding a child/Let that boy come home”

Pusha-T is not someone who is known for holding back, so when he released the song called The Story of Adidon, he was not shy when the line “You are hiding a child/Let that boy come home”. For those who do not know, Pusha-T was targeting Drake, and we are not sure about the whole situation but we are sure that these lyrics carried a lot of weight.

“Men are scum, I won’t deny”

Last year was a year when men were being called out for their questionable, and downright horrible behavior. So much so that even the men themselves turned against the ones who were being anything but decent human beings. The release of a song called Middle American by Stephen Malkmus was a strong one, but what was stronger was the lyrics that said, “Men are scum, I won’t deny”. It definitely sent a message.

“One taught me, love, one taught me patience, and one taught me pain”

Say what you will about Ariana Grande, but you cannot overlook the fact that she is trying to bring a positive change into the world. Despite going through an awful lot, she remained a bright spot for the entire year. Her “Thank U, Next” song had a lot of meaningful lyrics, but the one that held the most meaning was “One taught me, love, one taught me patience, and one taught me pain”.

“You’re classic in the wrong way”

Kacey Musgraves has already been very amazing with her way of expressing things. Her single “High Horse” was not only good but the lines “You’re classic in the wrong way” had a lot of meaning. That is not it, the more you listen to the song, the more you realize just how amazing the music was.

“I picked a good day for a recreational Percocet”

Pistol Annies is a band that we think everyone should be listening to, and for all the right reasons. The band has some amazing music and are consistent with their music as well. Something we do not get to see a lot. Best Years of my Life had a line that said, “I picked a good day for a recreational Percocet” and it happens to be a lyrical masterpiece.
